Tracks of the week reviewed: Masego, Davido, Billie Eilish

Masego and Don Toliver - Mystery Lady

This very smooth and sultry new release from Masego displays a sound very common to him ; this being a sound much alligned with cool instrumentals that always put you in a calm frame of mind. The production is peaceful and the quiet instrumental coupled with the soft additions of the guitar in the background make this a must listen.

Davido - Sunlight

The marriage of traditional African percussions with the soft steel pans draw you in from the offset. In this song Davido is trying to draw the attention of a female suitor who he says is his metaphorical "Sunlight" . The layering of this song is really the highlight and his soft spoken nature throughout with his blend of Yoruba and English really do the production justice.

Bille Eilish - Therefore I Am

This song highlights a departure from her last 2 singles stylistically (My Future and No Time To Die) where she highlighted more of her singing prowesses and a return to the relaxed funk style used much throughout her most recent album "WHEN DO WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?". The song is cryptic in its delivery but lines such as "get my pretty name out of your mouth" elude to shots being taken at the media ; potentially due to the relentless media scrutiny she has found herself under. A great listen though nonethless.
